Rev. John Kirk officiated. Burial was in Cannon Cemetery. Russell was born August 17, 1929, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.V. Russell. He was a tire salesman and a Baptist. He is survived by 5 daughters, Debbie Davis of Whitesboro; Elaine Douglas of Sherman; Kathy Whitten of Dallas; Tonya Russell of Blue Ridge; and Denice Russell of The Colony; and son, Mike of Dallas.
