Gossage James Riley Purdom 10 May 1902 - 15 March 1979 Amanda Endulia Purdom 20 July 1908 - 4 September 1999 Van Alstyne Leader September 16, 1999 pg 2 ENDULIA "DUDE" PURDOM Endulia "Dude" Purdom, 91, of Van Alstyne passed away Sept. 4, 1999 at her residence in Van Alstyne. Funeral services were held Sept. 7 at Flesher Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne. Hugh Moody officiated and interment followed at Cannon Cemetery. Mrs. Purdom was born on July 20, 1908 in Moss, Tennessee, the daugher of William Washington Brown and Lounetta Stockton Brown. She married Riley Purdom on November 20, 1924 in Van Alstyne. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1979. Her grandsons-in-law served as pallbearers. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia and husband, Ned Ireland, from Van Alstyne; five sons, Harold and wife, Pat, Purdom and Paul and wife, Eddylee Purdom, both of Van Alstyne; Frank and wife, Joann, Purdom of Sherman; Bob and wife, June, Purdom of Whitewright; and James and wife, Sandra, Purdom of Garland; 17 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great - great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Riley Purdom, on March 15, 1979 and one son, Joe Purdom, on Jan. 9, 1989. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church in Van Alstyne or Grayson County Home Hospice at P.O.Box 2306, Sherman, Texas 750914.
