B19 Van Alstyne - Services for Amy Ellen McLain of Van Alstyne, 87-year-old housewife who died Friday at her residence, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in Flesher Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Donald Griffith and Rev. Carroll Caddell will officiate, and burial will be in Cannon Cemetery. Mrs. McLain was born in Van Alstsyne, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Russell, and married Dine McClain on October 29, 1921 in Van Alstyne. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Surviving are her daughter, Carrie Ellen Waller of Howe; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lee Hulsey, Bobby Massey, Billy Joe Wheeler, Merle Russell, David Schatz and Mac Selby. George C. D. McLain 9 February 1895 - 28 March 1957 Van Alstyne Resident Succumbs In McKinney Van Alstyne - Dine McLain, 62, died at 7 a.m. today n the Veterans Hospital at McKinney. Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Friday at the First Christian church here, with Rev. Jesse Pugh and Rev. W.B.Sullens officiating. Burial will be in Cannon Cemetery under the direction of Flesher Funeral Home of Van Alstyne. McLain was born in Alabama Feb. 9, 1893, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim McLain. He was a retired carpenter and painter. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy McLain of Van Alstyne; one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Ellen Mills of Arlington; two sons, Joe McLain of Anna and John Henry McLain with the U.S. Air Force in Japan; five sisters, Mrs. Robert Parish and Mrs. General Wheeler of Van Alstyne, Mrs. Emmett Jones and Mrs. Jack Moore of Sherman, and Mrs. J.V.Russell of Lubbock; five brothers, Ezra and William McLain of Childress, Sam and Doc McLain of Irving, and Dee McLain of California; and two grandchildren.
