 Van Alstyne Leader June 17, 1937 Page 2 Funeral services for Robert Jones, 63, were held Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Cannon cemetery with the Rev. Frank Johnston conducting. Burial was directed by Fox-Fanning. Mr. Jones died Friday afternoon after a short illness. The deceased was born in Rome, Ga., Feb. 1, 1874 and came to Texas 51 years ago. He was married in 1908 to Miss Brace Spencer. He has been a member of the Baptist church since childhood. He is survived by his widow and daughters, Trudie Belle and Arle Mae of Van Alstyne; a son, Robert Jones Jr. of San Antonio; his mother, Mrs. Sarah Jones of Celina; and the following brothers and sisters, Isaac and James Jones of McLain, William Jones of Hedley, John Jones of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mrs. O. _.
