35 Years Ago (From The Sun, October 8, 1920)
Lester Haile recently sold a registered Jersey cow and a 4-month-old calf for $475.00.
Miss Coralee Echols has gone to Trenton where she will teach school.
Miss Kate Thomas took her high school class out for a picnic Wednesday afternoon.
Marriage license has been issued to W.R. Skipworth and Miss Florence Jenkins of the Rose Hill Community .
Joe Everheart has about recovered from a long siege of typhoid fever.
Uncle Tom Noe is seriously ill at his home in east Whitewright.
Frank Phillips brought us a "small" sweet potato Saturday.  It weighs 4-1/2 pounds.
S.C. Horton has bought a meat market in Trenton.
John Norris and family are moving to Lynn County.
Mr. and Mrs. Silas Wilson of Sherman Visited relatives here Sunday.

30 Years Ago (From The Sun, October 8, 1925)
David Crockett Cole, 74, died at his home at Ida Wednesday.
Contractor George Baugher and force of carpenters have commenced the erection of a modern English type brick veneer residence for Miss Sue Stephens.
W.C. Anderson has bought the Perry Jones farm east of town.
C.G. May has accepted employment with Manning & Clark hardware store.
The 3 local gins have ginned 4,164 bales of cotton.
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Fain have gone to Lamesa where he will buy cotton.
Miss Theresa Everheart left Monday for Atlanta, Georgia, where she will teach school.
Miss Faye Smith won first prize on a centerpiece and Miss Maye Smith won first prize on an apron at the Fannin County Fair held at Bonham last week.

25 Years Ago (From The Sun,  October 9, 1930)
Mrs. H.P. Donigan, Mrs. F.E. Douglas, Mrs. W.R. Hooper and Mrs. J.H. Waggoner are attending a zone meeting of the Methodist Missionary Society at Denton.
The following appeared on the Friday Literary Club program at the home of Miss Inez Ray last Friday afternoon: Mrs. Guy Hamilton, Mrs. Roby Childress, Mrs. L.G. Hagard and Miss Frances Bryant.
The following is a list of Whitewrighters teaching school in other towns:
Miss Powell Key, Harold Key, Miss Betty Lou McLean, Miss Genevieve Davidson, Miss Marian Barbee, Miss Roberta Sloan, Miss Sue McConnell, Miss Lucile Pritchett, Miss Elizabeth Smith, Miss Margaret Barbee, Miss Amateene May, John McMurry, Jr., Miss Margaret McMurry, Miss Mary Rena Penn, Miss pernie Badgett and Dr. J.A. Ray.

20 Years Ago (From The Sun, October 10, 1935)
The following Whitewright people won prizes at the Red River Valley Fair at Sherman last week:
J.R. Oliver, Mrs. Lester Haile, Mrs. Sidney Watson, Mrs. Oran Sears, Mrs. Fred Cook, Mrs. H.P. Donigan, Mrs. J.A. Yeager, Mrs. C.W. Pope,
E.T. Doss, Miss Viva Phillips, Miss Ouida Nell Harris, Miss Mary Phillips and Mrs. Alice Amost.
The following 4th graders will present a Columbus Day program Friday morning:
Ann LaRoe, Pattie Everheart, Betty Jane Harper, Dorothy Sue Douglas, Ben Robert Jones, Wallace Reeves, John Biggerstaff, LeRoy Martin, and James Arney.
Miss Dessie Reynolds has accepted employment in Dallas.
Charley David (Uncle Dave) Alverson, 82, died Sunday morning.
