35 YEARS AGO
(From The Sun, March 19, 1920)
Tom Moore died Tuesday evening shortly before 7 o'clock.
Dr. J.F. Spindle attended the State Dental Association meeting at Dallas last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. John Cantrell announce the birth of a daughter Saturday.
Mrs. Jim Sturdivant and Miss Belle Huddleston visited in Denison last week.
Mr. and Mrs. L.V. Smith and John Parker visited relatives in Bonham Sunday.
Ernest Harrison, J.J. Smith, John Garland and F.M. Echols attended the Grand Lodge of Odd Fellows at Ft. Worth the first of the week.
Looney Robbins and family have moved to Leonard.
Lee Kirkpatrick went to Dallas Thursday to  hear J.W. Bailey, candidate for governor, speak at the Fair Park auditorium.
Mr. and Mrs. G.D. McCarty went to Knox City Monday, where they will make their home.

Charlie Levi Truett, 95, died at t he home of his son, Rev. J.L. Truett, Friday.
Third Monday is growing.  Each third Monday is trades day in Whitewright, and each month the crowd increases.
Wm. J. Monday and H.R. Sanders of Batesville, Arkansas, have bought the N.R. Childress tailor shop and are now in charge of same.
J.J. Hogan, 84, pioneer settler of the Pink Hill community, died Saturday.
Ralph Sanders has accepted employment in the J.L. Kirkpatrick Pharmacy, taking the place of Clyde Craig.
Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Bryant, Jr. announce the birth of a son Tuesday.

25 YEARS AGO
(From The Sun, March 20, 1930)
Mrs. W.E. LaRoe entertained with a party Saturday afternoon, honoring her daughter, Ann, on her 4th birthday.
W.R. Vineyard, manager of Southern Ice & Utilities Co. plant here, was inducted into membership in the local Rotary Club  at the Friday noon meeting.
Whitewright was visited by a fine rain Monday night.
Mrs. Sarah Ross, 74, died at the home of her son, Charley Ross, in the Ely community, Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Horace Belew of Lubbock announce the birth of a son on March 14.  Mr. Belew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Belew, south of town.
Mr. and Mrs. W.E. LaRoe and children have returned to Whitewright to make their home, after spending several months at Midland.
Mrs. Carl Holland, Mrs. P.H. Connelly, Mrs. J.H. Chumbley, Mrs. W.H. Phillips and daughter, and Miss Eunice Turner attended a meeting of the Grayson County H-D Clubs at Sherman Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Ford announce the birth of a son on March 14.
Nuell and Luther Skaggs, George Gordon Pope and Bennie, Woodrow and Howard Ball attended the Fat Stock Show at Ft. Worth Saturday.
Kermit Belew, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Belew, south of town, and Miss Lucy Simmons of Tom Bean were married Saturday at Durant, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Sarah Melugin, 85, died at the home of her son, C.C. Melugin, Friday.

20 YEARS AGO
(From The Sun, March 21, 1935)
The boys' playground baseball team of the grammar school, composed of Charles Harrison, Billy Pritchett, Clifton Burchfield, G.W. Ford, J.B. "Bussy" Thornhill, Quinton Nicholson, Leroy Cowart, Rudolph Taylor, Hub Myrick, William England, Houston Darwin, Jack Thornhill and J.W. Jones, defeated the Collinsville school team, 8 to 2,  here Wednesday afternoon and clinched the playground championship of the county for their division of the county Interscholastic League.
John N. Carter, 96, died at his home here Tuesday.
Mac Mears, 7, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Mears, northeast of town, died in a Sherman hospital Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. R.L. Leuschner of Waco announce the birth of a son on March 13.  Mrs. Leuschner is a  daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Vestal of Whitewright.
Mrs. J.L. German celebrated her 88th birthday Saturday.
Cast for the play, "She Stoops To Conquer," which will be given soon, includes Nova Bryant, Vivian Echols, Isabelle Craig, Kathleen Mitchell, Guy Stepp, Byron Teague, Jack Meador, and Frank Hollingsworth. 
The Senior class is planting a rose garden on the campus east of the school building this week. - - - Reflector
