Sunday, January 6, 1889 pg. 2 June 1 - A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Verkin. June 3 - Mrs. Tom Clark died. June 6 - Jennie, the infant daughter of Mr. Tom Clark, died. June 7 - Willie V. Allen, aged eleven years, died. June 8 - A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Williams....A meeting was held at the City Hall in regard to a Fourth of July celebration, and the verdict was "to celebrate"....Miss Robbins, niece of Major Holmes, died. June 13 - A.H. Swain, of Indiana, purchased the Colonnade bar....A thief stole $43.50 from the drawer at Cutler's saloon....The surveying corps of the Choctaw Coal & Railway Co., under Chief Engineer R.S. McWillie, started out. June 19 - Frank Lilly, aged forty-six years, died of consumption. June 20 - Mr. Harry Platter and Miss Caddie Lingo were married. June 21 - Mr. R.H. Holder and Miss Louisa Kersenmacher were married by Judge Cook. June 27 - The meeting of the State Horticultural Society commenced to-day, and will last three days....Mr. G.T. Harris and Miss Etta Creager were married. June 29 - Mr. T.A. Stones and Miss Mary Oram were married at the residence of the bride's parents, by Rev. W.E. Tynes, of the Baptist Church.
