Ruddell Ranch
1977-1978

The Ruddell Ranch is located 12 miles west of Sherman.
The founders were husband and wife, William Burton Golden of England and Missouri Ann Smith of Missouri.
The desire to own their own land brought William and Missouri Ann GOlden to Texas.  In 1877 they acquired 200 acres and began raising corn, wheat, oats, cotton, cattle and horses.
Their children were Earnest Harry, Orville R. and Alma, who married Henry L. Ruddell.  Alma and Henry Ruddell  took over the 200 acres in 1917.  Henry Ruddell was employed by Grayson County and promoted rood roads in Precinct #4 and was a school trustee for Willow Springs School.
