Deer Creek Bridge

Deer Creek Bridge west of Blevins on Belfalls Road.

This picture of Deer Creek Bridge was taken by Clois D. Stone on July 22, 1990.

Dale Barron tells us that the new bridge over Deer Creek is all concrete now and is very new. Looking in either direction (North or South) from this new bridge the road is straight and does not have a curve in it as the picture that Clois took.

Newspaper Article

Stories to tell: Deer Creek Bridge holds 100 years of Falls County History.

Page 1

Page 2

The picture in the newspaper article was taken from the south side of the bridge, looking back towards the Courtney/Huber place).

The old iron bridge was removed several years back and replaced with this concrete bridge.

You will notice in photo, that the concrete bridge has no type of railings. It was some time after I took this picture before they came back and put some small railings along the side. I still think this bridge is much more unsafe than the old one. It would not be too hard to drive off the side of this one.

The photo of the new bridge is standing on the north side of the bridge, looking south (towards Belfalls).
