COOK- Sumter
Co. Federal Census of 1830, pg. 095, has Mrs. Martha Cook, age 40-50 with
a male age 10-15 and a female age 5-10. The male may be Alfred R. Cook,
my gggrandfather. In 1842, in AL., he married the girl who lived next door
in Sumter Co., Nancy Susan Howell. They named their first son William M.
Cook (could be child's paternal grandfather) and two other sons John Wesley
and John T. Cook. In 1810 and 1820 Sumter Co., a John Cook was included
in the census and may be Alfred's grandfather. Does anyone have information
on these Cooks? July 2, 2000

ROGERS/DUCKWORTH -Can anyone
help combine these two sets of information into one family? Shadrach(k)
Rog(d)gers was born some place in the Carolina's or in Nanesmond Va in
(or about) 1757. He married Hopey Bethea in Sumter Co. SC I have "long
term family knowledge" that his Father was Named Timothy and he had a brother
named Lot. The story goes that the brothers married sisters --Shadrach
to Hopey Bethea and Lot to Anna Bethea. (The Bethias I have written cannot
support this.) The only record I have seen to support that data is a record
by The Latter Day Saints. I have Shadrach born @1757 because his first
child was born in 1782. There was also a son named Meshack (b.1795-1875)
who Married Lucy Elizabeth Duckworth and his son Timothy married Sarah
Elizabeth Duckworth 1840 and thenmarried Rebecca Duckworth in 1866. I have
a file, that was sent me showing William (1767-1850) who married
Lucy Elizabeth Duckworth. If anyone has any more information
on this family group, please get in touch with me. July
