BIRTH Delayed Birth Certificates Birth Records
Florence County vital records (1915-present) are
maintained by the Vital Records office at the Florence Public Health
Department. There is a $12 charge by the county office to search
and/or provide one certified copy; orders must be made in-person or
by-mail and only by family members (online through VitalChek). A
free unrestricted online death index (1915-1960) is available on
South Carolina's Department of Health website, with historical
records (births 1641-1914 and deaths 1641-1960) available from South
Carolina's Department of Archives and History in Columbia.
Historical Florence marriage records (pre-1950) are maintained by
the Florence County Probate Court, while Florence divorce records
(post-1949) are maintained by the County Clerk.
