COOLEY - CLEVELAND - - On March 5th, 1876 by Wm. STOUGH, J. P., Mr. S. A. COOLEY and Miss R. B. CLEVELAND all of Pulaski Township.

THOMAS - Near Melbern on Tuesday February 29th, 1876 at 7 o'clock, P. M., Rebecca THOMAS, aged 96 years, 6 months and 12 days. Mrs. THOMAS was one of the pioneers of Ohio. She was born in Bedford, Bedford Co., Penn.; moved to Ohio in 1809, and lived in the first house built on the site of New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas county. She came to Williams county in 1844, and remained here until her death. She was a devoted and consistent member of the Lutheran Church from her youth, and died in the full hope of a blissful immortality. - J. N.

Rev. S. BLINNS, Universalist, of Fayette will discuss "endless punishment" with a Presbyterian divine at Melmore, Seneca county, commencing tomorrow, Dec 22d.

Xenophon LA FRANQUE (or FRANK as he was more generally known), son of the late George BEECHLER, died at the family residence on Center street last Wednesday afternoon, in the twenty-third year of his age. He had been ill with consumption for many months.

Fred KAMPF will receive on Saturday a supply of shell oysters direct from Baltimore. Lovers of bivalves on the half shell should file their orders.

Mrs. HARDING, wife of William HARDING, Sr., died Sunday morning after a brief illness. She was the mother of George W., and William HARDING of this place.

The young acquaintances of "Pete" MYERS feel chagrined at the way he played it on them. Peter bided his time, went out quietly, brought home a wife, and the story was an old one before the boys found out. Success to you, Peter.
Fire - Tuesday evening the stable on the premises of Charley FREEMAN, west High street, was accidentally fired and burned to the ground.

SHOOTS, the confidence man picked up the other day by Sheriff DARBY, gave Marshall BENNETT the names of several men living in this county who he said were dealers in counterfeit money. The marshall believes that SHOOTS lied, however.

Monday of last week at the adjourned term of Defiance county Common Pleas Court the prosecuting Attorney entered a nolle prosequi in the case of Mrs. Elizabeth WONDERLY, indicted for the murder of her husband, in Mark township.

The wind was on a high Friday night, and rattled loose things in a lively manner. Part of a house in Center township was blown down, hay stacks and corn shocks were scattered like "chaff before the wind", and many an old rookery trembled before the blast. Quite a number of the Bryan Inveterates were "three sheets to the wind."

SIMS - Last evening, at the residence of her father, H.S. Knapp, Mary, wife of J.L. Sims, after but a few days illness, of nervous prostration.

BRACE - On Feb. 19, 1877, in Stryker, Isabella, wife of E.C. BRACE, aged 42 years, 8 months and 8 days.
