desiring that the estate be settled they desire that Ephraim Tibbetts of said
Gilmanton, a grandson by marriage of the said Ruth, should be administrator of

Jedathum Farrar, John Wells, and Thomas Fellows all of Gilmanton,
all freeholders are appointed to set off to Sophia Cate, widow, her dower which
happens to her of the estate of her late husband Samuel Cate, late of Gilmanton
so as to allow her a full third of land and buildings. 21 Dec 1841.
Have
set off out of the homestead seal the south end of the dwelling house as
follows: the front room and the chamber over same, the back part of the house on
the lower floor to include the corner bedroom, entry, and dining room as far as
the door that goes out into the ell part of the house and to include the
fireplace and oven and a privilege to go down cellar, also the bed room and the
walk to them over the dining room one half of the privilege of the front entrys
and stairs with half of the cellar at the south end of the house with the
privilege to get to the same. Also the southerly half of the wood house
including the necessary house adjoining. Also the southerly half of the barn,
shed and hogstye, the barn floor to be in common, also all of the barnyard....
and to the well for water. Have also set off about 15 square rods of land for a
garden spot adjoining said dwelling house. Mentions David Sawyers dwelling
house, Fellows. Land purchased of Joseph Fellows, in deed dated Aug 8, 1833 and
recorded in Strafford Co Records. 5 Jan 1842
