Brownville, Nebraska

A Commemorative Plate


A person who is interested in history of the area has shared this picture of a commemorative plate of Brownville, Nebraska. The plate was made for Mrs. C. M. Miner and is part of a genealogy collection of her granddaughter, Kenna Crabtree.

The plate has pictures of the Museum of the Brownville Historical Society; Christian Church-1903 which was organized in 1855; Robert W. Furnas Home, Governor of Nebraska 1873; Muir House built of native brick by Robert Muir 1868; Brownville River Front; Boettner Park, site of organization of Co. C. First Nebr. Regiment 1861; Carson House, home of pioneer banker John L Carson; and the Methodist Church 1859, the oldest still in use in Nebraska.

The back has a historical inscription about Brownville and was made for Mrs. C.M. Miner by the Kettlesprings Kilns and is numbered 1495-S
