- Schuyler Sports Teams
- Sokol - This photo is not dated. The man in top row with X on his shirt is Nancy Hartman's grandfather, Otto Otradovsky 1874- 1951. The group is called Telocvicna Jednota Sokol (This is labeled of Schuyler). Otto Otradovsky was sent in 1899 to Chicago to take two months athletic instructor course. In about 1900, he served as judge at the National tournament in Cleveland and continued in that capacity for several years at various meets. Otto was a Gold Medal winner in first division in 1901 and 1902. (As far as I know those medals were won in competion in Chicago.) One medal is in the Schuyler Museum. Forty years later he was still teaching. Tel. Jed. Sokol had their 50th anniversary 14 and 15 of June in 1941 (1891-1941).
- Anna Dudek - She believes this to be Anna Dudek b. 1872, who married Joseph Henry Otradovsky, b. 1873; and the baby to be Irma who was born Feb. 1909. The family lived in Schuyler, Nebraska. Can any one confirm this?
- Vavra Family - On the back it says Roker1900 dne 24 cervance Monova jafaova rozena okr 1819
Atontonia Kanapaskova, 1847
Adolph Vavra, dne 17 unora 1852
OVA placed on the end of a name indicates that it is a female. Nancy believes that it reads Year 1900 day 24 July (date photo was taken). Rozena is the word for born, dne is the word for day. She does not know what month okr is (which has a small hook before the letter o).
The name for the lady sort of looks like Ctntonie Kanaposhova
dne 17 unora 1852 should be (day 17 February 1852)
That is the best she could do on the translating and adds that she hopes you all enjoy seeing this photo.
