Jonathan Jackson Wallace, son of Levi/Levy Wallace, went to Ohio during the Civil War and never returned home to Knoxville to live. He was married to Elizabeth Cooper in Ohio and they had two daughters: Alice Jane and Mary Ellen.Alice Jane married William Schwalm in Louise County, Iowa, December 25, 1882; her sister, Mary Ellen, was married to William Washington Howe, in Stratton, Hitchcock County, Nebraska, January 1, 1888.
The Wallace family located in Nebraska for a while. Jonathan Jackson Wallace was listed n the 1890 Veteran's Census in Cornell Township, Hitchcock County, Nebraska. Jonathan and his wife, Elizabeth, and Alice Jane and her family moved to Colorado some time between 1891 and 1895. It is believed that William and Mary Wallace Howe lived the rest of their lives in Nebraska. Both died and are buried in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.
Children born to Mary were: John C. Howe; Leroy J. (born January 1889); Ben K (born July 1893); and Jessie J. (born December 1895).
Alice Jane had one child born in Nebraska (1887); one born in Iowa; and the others born in Colorado.
