Robert Richard GABRELCIK, 52, of Lexington Park, MD died of a sudden heart
attack Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington,
DC.
He was born September 3, 1953, in Leonardtown, MD, at St. Mary's
Hospital to Joyce and Robert Gabrelcik. He graduated from Ryken High School in
1971 and went on to attend St. Mary's College and the University of Maryland.
In May of 1978 he married Kathleen Marie Stahovec at St. Bernadette's
Catholic Church in Silver Spring, MD. He worked as an Insurance Manager in
Atlanta, GA for 7 years before returning home to St. Mary's County where he went
into commercial development, similar to his parent's business. Along with his
father, he had a great impact on the business development of St. Mary's County.
He will always be remembered for his incredible charismatic personality. There
was never a day he wasn't wearing one of his many smiles. His willingness to
lend a hand was never ending. Though he was constantly on the go, he always made
time to listen and help a friend in need.
His three children, Andrea,
Bobby and Lisa will carry on his legacy. Andrea will always remember the daily
phone conversations with Dad, her best friend. Especially the ones when she
'just called to say I love you Dad.' As a child, Bobby wanted to become a pilot.
He thanks his dad for making that dream come true and for all of the opening day
Rock fishing trips together. Lisa will miss his 'fancy food concoctions' and his
goodnight kisses.
Along with his three children, he is survived by his
wife, Kathy; his parents, Robert and Joyce: his two brothers, Bill and Jim; his
sister-in-law, Tracey; his nephews, Rex and Michael; and his niece, Samantha.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16, 2005 at 1:00 p.m.
