Queen Anne's County was officially formed in 1706, taking its territory from
Talbot County. It was named in honor of Queen Anne of Great Britain.
Kent Island falls within Queen Anne's County. Kent County lies across the
northern border of Queen Anne's County. Kent County, Delaware, is across its
eastern border. Caroline County is southeast. Talbot County is south. And, Anne
Arundel County is west, across the Chesapeake Bay from Queen Anne's County.
Centreville is the County Seat.
