IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN The fifteenth day of June in the year of
Our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and forty six, I David Thomas of Baltimore
County in the Province of Maryland, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect
memory and understanding Calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it
is appointed for all men Once to Die do make this my last Will and Testament
Principally I recommend my Soul to god and my body to the earth to be Buried
in a Christian Decent manner at the discretion of my Executors and as
toughing such worldly Estate as it hath pleased god to help me with I do
dispose bequeath and Devise of the same in manner and form following that is
to say Imprimis
First I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Thomas, my beloved wife, a Negro man called Adam, and another Negro man called holland, a Negro woman Called Joan, Likewise the Feather Bed and Furniture down Stairs in the new house also the Desk, during her Natural Life and after he Decease to my son David Thomas likewise the whole Tract of Land and plantation that I now dwell upon Containing three hundred acres of Land also which she Shall Pofsefs during her Natural Life likewise She Shall have a Child's part in all my moveable Goods and Chattles as household goods and stock which Share she shall have, & her heirs and afsigns &. Item I give and bequeath unto my Son David Thomas a Negro man Called Jack and next best feather bed in the house and the furniture belonging to the same also a Child's part (?) my real Estate & and Personal.
Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter Eliz" Thomas a negro woman Called May and an equal share with the rest of the children, in my Estate
Item, I give and bequeath unto Hannah Thomas a Negro Girl called Pugg and a Share with the rest as above.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary, Thomas, a negro Child Called Sarah, and a Share Equal with the rest of the Children as above and as my Wife is at present Big with Child my will and Pleasure is that if the Child proves a male Child and lives he Shall have and pofsefs my Tracts of Land over Deer Creek Called Isaac's Enlargement Containing One hundred and thirty five acres and also a small tract of land being a portion among the aforesaid Tract Called Davis' Enlargement Both which Tracts I give and bequeath to the said male child his heirs and afsigns forEver. but if the Child happens to be a girl she shall have one Equal Share with the rest of the Children and the aforesaid child [Rest of line not legible]

On the back of the accomp. will was thus
written Viz.
On the Seventeenth day of September one Thousand Seven Hundred
and Forty Six, Ignatius Wheeler ? Patrick Conner two of the Subscribing
witnefses to the foregoing Will being duly and Solemnly Sworn on the holy
evangelist of the almighty god, depose and Say that they Saw the Testator
David Thomas Sign the foregoing will and heard him publish and declare the
same to e his Last Will and Testament that at the time of his signing he was
to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind and memory and
that they with William Few, the other subscribing witnefses, subscribed their
respective names as Witnesses, to the Said Will in the presence of the said
Testator and at his request (which oath was taken by the Said Witnefses
before me.
