Last Will and Testament of John ROSIER (1785-1867), Dated February 15, 1866, Proved 18 October 1867
In the name of God above I John Rosier of Baltimore County in the state of Maryland, being weak in body but of sound mind, disposing mind, memory, and understanding, considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs, and thereby be the better prepared to leave this world when it shall please God to call me hence, do therefore make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following; that is to say, first and joyfully recommit my soul into the hands of Almighty God and my body to the casket to be decently buried at the direction of my executor hereinafter named, and after my debts and funeral charges are paid, I devise and bequeath as follows. Item. I give and bequeath unto my three grandsons, John Slade, Joshua Slade, and Abraham Slade, sons of my deceased daughter Hannah, the sum of $600, to be equally divided between them, share and share alike, and to be paid to them within 2 years from the time of my decease, by my executor hereinafter named. Item. I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate both real and personal unto my son John Rosier. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my son John Rosier to be sole executor of this my last will and testament revoking and annulling all former wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I have here to set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of February in the year of our Lord 1866.
