BAKER - I'd be interested in anyone that can help dig up info on the following paragraph taken from a BAKER paper written by Callie Baker Weisiger in 1912. "____ Baker came to this country (USA) from England with Lord Baltimore, who established a colony North of the Potomac about the year 1635. The lands were granted to Lord Baltimore by Charles II of England. Baker at one time was a surveyor for BOND and WHEELER, who were great land proprietors. He married Ann FELL, a daughter of Edward and Rebecca FELL. From this marriage came our lineal ancestor Charles Baker I." Does anyone know anything about 1. the WHEELER, BOND, or FELL families. 2. how land was granted from England. 3. Lord Baltimore's arrival to the U.S. I'm sure there is a ton of info out there in the libraries, but if anyone could give me a jump start, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My ggrandmother was Dorothy M. Adams born in Balitmore c. 1892. She was the daughter of William Adams and Mary Schutie, both born Russia. Dorothy married Millard Raemore 1917 or early 1918 in Baltimore, and she died 1944 in PA. Her brother John was living in 1944, but I don't know what happened to him. He was a well-known photographer in Baltimore. The family was Catholic. Dorothy also had a twin. If anyone knows of this family or can check the 1900 census for this family in Baltimore, I would appreciate it. The family was rather wealthy, and I am at a dead end! Thank you very very much for *anything* at all. EER

Her father (first name unknown, born about 1875?) was sheriff of Randallstown for a period of time early this century. I am searching for information about a man named KECK and his family who lived in Randallstown (BALTIMORE CO.) early this century. He was a member of the Masons and served as the sheriff of Randallstown (during the 1920's and 30's?). He had at least 3 children: John, Ruth Elizabeth (b. abt 1900), and Walter. One of his granddaughters (by John or Walter) was Miss Maryland in the 1940's. He died about 1950 and was in his 80's at the time. Yes, I'm dealing with some pretty sketchy info from older members of my family, but I'm hoping that you can at least point me to sources of information which can help me. Thanks.

Looking for any information at all on my gg-grandfather, Elijah James RUSSELL. He was born about 1832 in Penn. per the 1860 census of Baltimore. He was a Civil War Vet. He married Caroline Brown on 4 Aug 1858 in Baltimore. He died 4 Oct 1872. They had 4 children; John T.(b. 7 jun 1859), Elijah J. (b. 12 Feb 1866), Allen T. (b 26 Dec 1867), and one more (name unknown) Allen was born in Annapolis and his 2 older brothers in Baltim. Caroline was born Mar. 1837 in MD. (probably Baltimore) to John & Phebe BROWN. The RUSSELL's lived in Baltimore in 1860 with her parents. Both Elijah James RUSSELL and John BROWN were "mariners" then. The RUSSELL's were living in Annapolis in the 1870 census and his occupation was "fisherman". The RUSSEL's were still living with the BROWN's in 1870, but Caroline's father, John BROWN, was not listed (believe he may have died). Caroline never re-married after Elijah James (he may have gone by just James) died. I have copies of his pension files. Please forward any info on either of these RUSSELL's or BROWN's. I am really wanting to know about them, especially Elijah James RUSSELL. John BROWN was born about 1801 in MD. Mrs. Phebe Brown was born about 1807 in either MD. or CONN. Also note: Elijah James and Caroline were married in her father's home by Rev. Henry FURLONG. He was a minster of the M.E. Church Baltimore Annual Conference, but have reason to believe that he was retired before preforming this marriage.

I am trying to find any info on Hahn & Fessler John Marshall Hahn was my grandfather & he died in Maryland around 1956. My Grandmother died at Spring Grove Hospital in Catonsville, Md. Marshall Hahn (my dad) was born in 1922. He had no siblings, & he died in 1973, so there is no one to ask. I can't get any documents other than what I have, so if you can help me in any way, I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you Barbara

I am researching a MILNER family that may have come from Harford or Baltimore County Maryland. My 5th grt. grd. father Amos Milner stated on the 1850 census that he was born in Virginia (1759). I find him first in Washington County, Pennsylvania along with two other men with that surname. Isaac Milner and Nicholas Milner. In Nicholas' rev. war pension he states he was born 22 June 1762 in Harford County, Maryland. I have followed these men from Washington County, PA to Fayette County, Kentucky. Nicholas then went to Harrison County Kentucky where he died. Amos went to Bracken County, Kentucky, then to Fayette County, Indiana where he died. Isaac may have moved to Northern Kentucky as well but I don't know. I have found several early records of an Isaac Milner in Baltimore and Harford Counties including a record of an Isaac Milner who was present at the wedding of a person whose surname was AMOS (Quaker). Can anyone tell me who these Milners are and what these records mean? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! Thank you! my address: 14833 Spring Creek Road #211, Dallas, Texas, 75248.

My maternal grandfather Gaetano Merolla received his Certificate of Naturalization from the Baltimore City Court, Eighth Judicial Circuit of the State of Maryland on 1 October 1894. This certificate gives Italy only as place of birth, no town or province, and provides no information as to when he emigrated, what date, what ship, ports of embarkation and debarkation. I understand that the Petition for Certificate of Naturalization may contain such data, and was likely filed in the same Court. Can anyone tell me where to find and/or address Baltimore City Court, Eighth Judicial Circuit Court today. I will much appreciate all help offered.
