WOTHINGTON | Nicholas Brice | 18 June 1884 | 19 June 1884 | Death of a Well-Known Marylander Annapolis, June 18, (1884) Mr. Nicholas Brice Worthington, well-known throughout the State, died of consumption at his residence in Annapolis at noon today. He was taken severely ill last fall and he never fully recovered, though he was confined to his bed only a week. He represented Anne Arundel County in the Maryland Legislature in 1844 and 1846. He was a gentleman in literary attainments and was the editor or the American Farmer from 1856 to 1861. For two years he was the president and for thirteen years a professor in the Maryland Agricultural College. He resigned his connection with the college during the war. He was 67 years old. Mr. Worthington was some years ago agricultural editor of the BALTIMORE WEEKLY SUN. He came to Annapolis two years ago from Baltimore. He leaves several sons and daughters. One of his sons, Walter Worthington, is an assistant engineer in the navy, stationed on the Quinnebaug, of the European squadron.
