PIPERRobert H.7 OCt 188324 Nov 1883In Memorial By the death of ROBERT H. PIPER, Esq. of Long Green, the 7th inst. our community has lost one of its most valued and beloved members. Generous and hospitable of manner and social bearing-most frank and attractive, his home, heart, and purse were all quickly responsive to the calls of friendship and charity. A patriotic citizen, an active worki=er in the temperance caus, and above and beyond all a Christian who light was not hide, under a bushel, but was manifest to all around, we feel that the void his death had made will not be easily filled. The suddeness of the summons came to us all with stunning effect. From the Church of which he was an honored and official member to which he devotely attached, and from the neighborhood far and near came expressions of heartfelt sorrow and of sympathy with the one who has lost her best earthly friend and companion. But while we mourn,, feeling deeply our loss, we are yet strong in our consolation for &quotBlessed are the dead which die in the Lord, yea saith the spirit that they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them. That she is yours no more:

To that better life on high;
Her dying teaches how to live,
Her living how to die.
