John COLE Descendants

There were a number of John Cole immigrants to Maryland starting in the 1630s. The parentage of John Cole who married Johanna Garrett is uncertain, despite several claims and theories. He was a witness to the murder of his father-in-law, Dennis Garrett, by John Oldton in July of 1691. John had two wives first Johanna Garrett whom he probably married in the late 1680s, and second, Diana Hawkins who he married about 1710. From depositions he made we know he was born ca. 1669.
