In the name of God Amen, I Jarrett Watts of Anne Arundel County in in the State of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time there of and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs and therely be the better prepared to leave this world when it shale please God to call me hence do therefore make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and from following that is to say.
First and principally I commit my soul unto the hands of Almighty God and my body to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor here in after named and after my death debts and funeral charges are paid I devise and bequeath as follows. Item. I give and devise unto Samuel Watts my brother the Home plantation in which I now reside containing about seventy seven acres and also the land which I purchased of the heirs of the late Zachariah and Elizabeth Turner containing about one hundred six and a half acres of land more or less to him the Samuel Watts his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple.
Item. I give and devise unto my nephew James P. Watts son of my brother Samuel the property or land on which I purchased of the heirs of John C. Biggs being the place on which the said James now resides on the following conditions that the said James P. Watts shall pay to my sister Elizabeth A. Jackson wife of John Jackson or her heirs or a signs the sum of one thousand dollars in five equal annual installments bearing interest at 6 perct from my death, and upon the payment of said sum of money I devise the said land to the said James P. Watts his heirs and a signs in fee.
Item 3d. I give and devise the tract of land which I purchased of John Jackson known as the Old Muster Grounds containing about one hundred five and a half acres of land to the children of Isaiah Arnold who married my sister Eliza and it is my will that the said land shall be sold and the proceeds there it shall be equally divided among all the said children of the said Isaiah Arnold and Eliza his wife.
Item 4. I give and devise unto Isaiah Watts my brother the tract of land called Ridgelys Chance which I own lying between the tract commonly known as the Muster Grounds and the home plantation of my said brother Samuel Watts containing about one hundred and sixteen acres more or less to him the said Isaiah Watts his heirs and a signs forever in fee simple.
Item 5. I give and devise and bequeath unto my brother Samuel Watts all the cash money that I may have after paying my debts and funeral charges which I may have together with all my personal property of every nature kind which I may possess at the time of my death. And lastly I do herely constitute and appoint my brother Samuel Watts to be my sole Executor of this my last Will and testament revoking and annulling all former Wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and none other to be my last Will and testament. In testimony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy three.
Signed sealed published and declared he Jarrett Watts the above named
testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who
at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have
subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.

Then came Charles A Warfield, Frances Meritt and J. Randolph
Woodward the subscribing witnesses to the aforegoing last Will and
Testament of Jarrett Watts and made oath on the Holy Evangely
of Almighty God that they did see the testator sign and seal this
will, that they heard him publish pronounce and declare the same
to be his last Will and testament and that at the time of his so
doing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing
mind memory and understanding and that they subscribed their
names as witne ses thereto at the request of the testator and in his
presence and all in the presence of each of each other.
