Will - Mary TUCKER

Dated 29 Sep 1788; Proved 08 Jun 1789

In the Name of God Amen I Mary Tucker of Anne Arundel County & State of Maryland being very weak of body but of Sound disposing mind and memory thanks be to almighty God for the same do make & appoint this my last Will & Testament in manner & form following Viz. First I command my Soul to Al: :mighty God who gave it, & my body to the Earth to be buried at the direction of my Executor thereafter named, and as for my Wordly Goods which God of his goodness hath been pleased to bestow upon me I give & devise as follows. ~~~~~~~~~~~

I give and bequeath unto my beloved Son Thomas Tucker and his heirs One Calf 4 mths old & no more

Item I give, devise unto my Son Zachariah Tucker and his Heirs One Cow Calf six months old ~~~~~

Item I give and bequeath unto my Loving Daughter Sarah Cradle all my waring apparel & Sit: Tea Spoons & no more. ~~~~~~~

Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Son Richard Tucker and his Heirs all the Most of my personal Estate wheresoever & whatsoever whom I hereby appoint hole and sole Executor of this my last Will & Testament & I hereby ratify & confirm this to be my last Will & Testament and none other as Witness my hand this 29th day of Sept Anno Domini One Thousand Seven hundred & Eighty Eight.

On the back if the aforegoing Will were the following endorsement to wit ~~~~~
Then came Richard Tucker and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that the written Instrument of Writing is the true, and whole Will and Testament of Mary Tucker late of Anne Arundel County deceased, that hath come to his hands or possesion and that he doth not know of any other Sworn before.

Then came Thomas Talbott one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the written last Will and Testament of Mary Tucker late of Anne Arundel County, deceased, and made Oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that he did see the Testatrix therein named Sign and Seal this Will, and that he heard her publish, pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament, that at the time of her doing so, she was, to the best of his apprehension, of Sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding; and that he together with Thomas Linthicum subscribed their names as Witnesses to this Will, in the presence, and at the request of the Testatrix, and in the presence of each other. ~~~~~ doth not know of any other Sworn before.
