Will - Mary HAWKINS

In the name of God Amen. I Mary Hawkins of Anne Arundel County Maryland, being of sound mind, memory and understanding do make, publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following. That is to say I hereby constitute and appoint my son Joshua Hawkins of Anne Arundel County sole Executor of this my last will and testament. After the payment of my just debts and charges I dispose of my estate as follows.

I hereby give devise and bequeath to my two sons Joshua Hawkins and Wallace W Hawkins as tenants in common to share and share alike or to be divided between them as they may agree to do, the farm on which I now reside together with the buildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging containing and laid off for one hundred and fifty acres to them and their heirs forever.

I give devise and bequeath to my sons Joshua Hawkins and Wallace W Hawkins to share and share alike therein (after payment of the herein named legacies) my tract of land known as the Burnt Woods containing seventy acres of land more or less, subject to the following legacies. Four hundred dollars to my daughter Ann Eliza Cromwell, wife of the late Frederick Cromwell. Four Hundred dollars to Emily S Cromwell, wife of John G Cromwell, fifty dollars to my granddaughter Ann Rebecca Yieldhall daughter of Elijah Yieldhall, and three hundred dollars to my granddaughter Mary Eliza Cromwell, daughter of James C Cromwell, and it is my will and desire that the legacies of my two daughters afore named shall be paid within twelve months after my death, those of my granddaughters aforementioned when they shall each reach their majority without interest.

I give devise and bequeath to my son Wallace W Hawkins my black man named Jerry Johnson, to serve him until the thirteenth day of May eighteen hundred and sixty seven when the said Jerry shall be free.

I give devise and bequeath to my son Johua Hawkins my negro boy George now about ten years of age, and my negro girl Killa about seven years of age to serve him until they each become thirty five years of age when they shall be free.

I give devise and bequeath to my son Walace W Hawkins the bed bedstead and bedding used by me.

And I give devise and bequeath to my son Joshua Hawkins my rocking chair, stove, settee and Bureau.

And I further give devise and bequeath all my household furniture not herein before disposed of, to my surviving daughter or daughters, if more than one, to be equally divided between them.

And I hereby revoke all other wills made by me, and declare this as and for my Will and testament ratifying and confirming the same as my last Will and Testament. In testamony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of August the year of our Lord on thousand eight hundred and sixty four.
