Note: Edward BALDWIN of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, was born 15 Oct 1725 and died 26 Oct 1759. He was a son of Henry BALDWIN (b. 1700) & Mary (b. 1700).
He devised to his sons James and Henry Baldwin, "my now dwelling plantation," part of "Howard's First Choice," part of "Howard's and Porter's Range" and part of "Howard's Addition," both said sons being minors under 14 years of age; to his daughters Deborah and Lydia Baldwin(minors) he left L10 sterling apiece.
He appointed his brother, Henry Baldwin, his executor, and gave him the care of his children during their minority.
The witnesses under the Will were Cornelius Howard, Sanders Baldwin and George Newman. This Sanders Baldwin was probably a son of Thomas Baldwin 3, John 2, John 1 who married Agnes Sanders born: 1716. Henry Baldwin, the executor of his brother's Will, leased in 1761, for a period of 10 years, to William Woodward and Benjamin Yieldhall "Howard's First Choice," "Howard's and Porter's Range" and "Howard's Addition" [A.A. Co. Deeds, B. B. #2, 432]. It is said that the wife of Edward Baldwin died early about 1757, and the children were reared by Messrs. Wilson, Yieldhall, and Woodward, who were family connections. The son, James Baldwin, occupied the homestead, while Henry was seated at Rising Sun, adjoining his brother's estate, in Anne Arundel County.
