There were several Leeke or Leak families in 17th century MD. Henry Leake first appears in the records on 3 April 1688 when he is listed as receiving payments from the estate of Thomas Bankes. On 7 June 1705 he married Elizabeth Ward as listed the All Hallows Parish Register in Anne Arundel Co., MD. His parents are not known. There was an Edward Leake in Anne Arundel Co., who witnessed a deed in 1663 of Thomas Turner. There is an apprentice indenture of Henry Berrie Jr. to Henry Leak, Carpenter of Anne Arundel Co dated 28 Oct 1707. On 17 March 1711 Henry purchased 100 acres of a tract called "Town Acres" from Wm and Mary Disney.
