FIRST GENERATION

1. Richard Wilmont Deaver I (1) was born about 1627 in Scotland. He immigrated on 12 Dec 1659 to Ship-Lionheart, with Grace, from Lester Williams Research. He died on 5 Feb 1700/1 in St. James Parish, Anne Arundel Co., MD. He was buried on 8 Feb 1700/1 in St. James Parish, Anne Arundel Co., MD. On December 13, 1662 Richard Deaver I received a grant of land which is called "Plantacon".

Mentioned in Maryland "Records of Land Patents, 1633-1680" Arrived 1658-service. Recorded as Richard and Grace Dever.

Property: July 23, 1658, 100 acres, Land Office Patent O.P. Hall of Records, Liber Q, Folio 72: Servitude completed.

Deed from R&G Deavor dated April 1, 1666 (signed RD) to Ralph Williams...This tract a grant to Richard Deaver on August 4, 1664 called "Alltogether" lying north side of Severn River.

Maybe ----Deavers are of French descent, Norman-French. Various spellings are DeVer, De Vere, Dever, Deaver, Van de Ver and Van de Vere.going to England, where they spent a short time, and came to American before the Revolutionary War.

Upon their arrival in American they dropped the prefix VAN, and one brother spelled his name Deaver, while the other, who went to another part of the country, spelled it Dever. Brittany Coast in the north of France, and at the head of 67 men, went with William the Conqueror in 1066 for the Norman conquest of England. That was the beginning of the family in England. Robert de Vere signed the document in the name of King John. Veres had spread over England, Scotland and Ireland, and the name had taken on some of the modern day spellings of. Scotland and landing in Ann Arundell County, Maryland, December 12,1657.of the family, which spread to the South and West.

He was married to Grace Fitzmorris about 1657. Grace Fitzmorris(1) was born in 1628 in Scotland. She died on 15 Apr 1702 in St James Parish, Anne Arundel County, MD. She was buried on 18 Apr 1702. Mentioned in Maryland "Records of Land Patents, 1633-1680" Arrived 1658-service. Recorded as Richard and Grace Dever.

SECOND GENERATION

5. John Deaver (1) was born about 1657. He appeared on the census between 1703 and 1705 in Baltimore Co., MD. He Tax Rcd between 1703 and 1705 in MD Tax List Census. He owned on 13 Mar 1712/13 in Deed for transfer of land to head of Bush R. to Richard Deaver.. He died on 4 Jan 1729/30. He signed a will in 1731 in Hall of Records, Annapolis, MD (Volume #20, PP.#350-352). He was a in Carpenter. Three oldest sons, along with Samual, Elizabeth, and Mary are mentioned in the will of John Deaver. Names and dates of six younger children are from Vestry Records of St. John's and St. George's Churches in the Maryland Historical Society.

JOSEPH CAMPBELL - Will dated May 10, 1872; witnesses. Terms of Will:
Everything is left to wife, Harriet Campbell. After her death the estate is to be divided thus; 1/5 of estate to go to heirs of son, James Campbell, whose heirs are Hancher, Abel, Harriet and James Campbell; 1/5 to heirs of daughter, Elizabeth J. King whose only heir named is George I. King; 1/5 of estate to Daul, Mary Ann Wilson; 1/5 to son, John (T.?) Campbell; 1/5 to son, Benjamin "provided he does not marry Catherine J. Cunningham. If he marries he is to have $100.00, the rest of his 1/5 to be divided among the other heirs named above."
