In 1880 Samuel Sparks and his family were enumerated in the White Co IL census. He died 27 Jun 1887 and is buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery just outside Mt. Vernon IN.

He died 15 Nov 1919 in Chicago IL.

She was always listed as head of household until she began living with her children in 1860 Webster census. We do not know for certain the name of Sarah's husband, bur we believe he was the Thomas Sparks in the 1820 Henderson Co census records; his 1820 household contained 2 males under 10, 1 male 26-45, and 1 female 16-26. This listing was next door to Sarah's brother, Burwell Brackett. We do know that Sarah was the mother of 4 children:(1) Noah Sparks, b 1818 NC married Lucinda Newton 13 Jun 1842 Hopkins Co KY; (2) Samuel T. Sparks of this listing; (3) Richard P. Sparks, b 1823 KY married Sarah L. Crowley 20 May 1847 Henderson Co KY, who is listed in the 1860 Hopkins Co KY census; and (4) Mary Ann "Polly" Sparks, b 1831 KY married Andrew J. Woods 30 May 1853 Henderson Co KY. In her book "Benjamin Brackett of the Carolinas" c 1996, Shirley Brown Adair says the children of Burrell Brackett (1775-1825) were: 1) Sarah Brackett, b c 1797, marr Thomas Sparks in NC; 2) Ludwell Brackett, b 1799 NC; 3) Elizabeth Brackett, b c 1800, m John Beal and in 1836 marr Timothy Harris; 4) James Brackett, b 10 Aug 1801 NC, d 15 Dec 1863; marr 13 Dec 1823 Henderson Co KY Cynthia Maloney, b 1809; and 5) Willis Brackett. Sarah Sparks is the 3great-grandmother of Carole Palmer.
