GA Nancy Crews Ashby, the mother of B.F. Ashby, was the dau of Mary "Polly" Elder and Joseph Crews, who died in Georgia abt 1801, leaving his wife with four young children. Nancy's mother then married William Crowley but we have found no Record of that marriage. However, William Crowley brought his children by Polly Elder and the Crews orphans to Henderson Co KY, where he appears on every tax list between 1812-1819. Nancy Crews married Henry Ashby 27 Aug 1816 Henderson Co KY and they were the parents of 12 children. Henry Ashby died in 1848 and Nancy Crews died in 1873; they are both buried at Old Onton Cemetery.

According to Louise Fleming's "Heyday of Onton", p 245, he was the son of Dr. Peter Jackson (1762-1807) and Mary Rust (1781-1844). After the death of Dr. Jackson, Mary Rust Jackson married Thomas Carlisle and they moved to Hopkins Co KY in 1817. Charles Jackson married Jane Dunville 23 Dec 1828 Hopkins Co KY. Charles K. Tenn Jane Dunville was the youngest child of Richard A. Dunville and Elizabeth Adams, according to Louise Fleming's "Heyday of Onton", p 245. At the age of 5, a hay fork pierced Jane's right eye, causing her to lose it. Her father was born in Ireland; he moved his family to what is now the Onton area about 1814. Jane is buried at New Salem Cemetery; her stone reads "Jane, wife of Charles K. Jackson, 31 Mar 1807-16 Jun 1880.
