additional information received 2
Oct 2002: You
list my 3g-grandfather Nathan Horn who is buried in Logan Co. None of the DAR
applications that name a wife Dishman have any documentation to prove this and
my documents prove otherwise. His 2nd wife was Sarah Harris who died before
1821. She is named as his deceased wife in an 1828 Southampton Co., VA Chancery
Court proceeding. Logan County marriage records show Nathan married 3rd to
Elizabeth Cleaves 11 Mar 1822 and it is believed that this is the Elizabeth Horn
who is buried on the Akers Farm in Logan Co, very close to where the top of the
headstone for Nathan Horn's grave was found under a barn that had been torn
down. Evidently Nathan was buried next to Elizabeth but his tombstone got
knocked over and hauled away to use as a foundation stone under the barn when it
was built and it has just recently been found when the barn was torn down on the
property next to the Akers Farm. submitted by Tom
King PS
Your data is correct for my other 3g-grandfather William Breedlove. We had a
government marker added next to his and his wife's old tombstones.
