Less than 10 members paid dues for 2018; therefore, we do not have the money to print Newsletters and mail them out to members. We have refunded any 2018 dues that have already been paid. Due to records being widely availabe on the internet, we will no longer be publishing any new books. We are currently having a BIG SALE of books we now have on hand (see below). All current funds, and any future funds from the sale of books, will be used only to buy markers for unmarked graves in Letcher County.
The Society used to meet on the second Tuesday of each month. However, it has been decided to no longer have any Summer meetings and only have meetings every three months at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library, Whitesburg, KY at 5:30pm. Our next regular meeting will be the 2nd Tuesday of September. After December 31, 2018 we will be discontinuing our Post Office Box address (i.e. P.O. Box 312, Whitesburg, KY 41858). Until then, please send a self addressed stamped envelope if you wish a reply to any correspondence.
