COUNTY FORMATION

Kingman County was founded March 7, 1872. Kingman County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. Its county seat and largest city is Kingman. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 7,470. The county was named for Samuel Kingman, a chief justice of the Kansas Supreme Court during the 1860s and 1870s.
