Cavalry in Tazewell Co., Va. on Aug. 11, 1862. Served for 3 years during which time he was promoted to 2nd Lt.  The 4th Ky. Cavalry was a part of the 1st Cav. Brigade under the command of Gen. John H. Morgan. Not sure where he fought. John married Margaret Wells 1867, Falmouth, Ky. They had ch: Robert, Nancy, & Charles Thomas.  Margaret was d/o Jeremiah & Nancy Moore Wells of Ky. Ann in Ks.
 EDWARD MAHER b. Dec. 11, 1845 Cook Co., Ill. D. July 3 1922, Neosho Co., Ks. Buried at Oakwood Cemetary - Civil War section - Parsons, Ks.  He was s/o Michael Maher & Anna Ryan.  Edward enlisted April 1862 in Co., H, 67th Ill. Inf.  He served for 22 months. He fought at: Belmont, Isl. No. 10, Helena, Vicksburg & received a shell wound to the ankle during fighting at Helena. He returned to Illinois after the War & then with his mother & four brothers set out for California on the Overland Trail.  They arrived in Sacramento in Sep. 1864.  Edward spent two years in that area, then to Idaho, & then back to Ks. He settled near the Osage Indian Mission at St. Paul, Ks. where he worked as a blacksmith.  Later bought land 4 miles north of  Labette Co. line.  Edward
married Harriet Higginbotham in 1869. They had Frank, John, Edward & Anna. Anna later married  Charles Makemson,Contact has been lost with the Mahers that remained in Cal. Ann in Ks

James DRUMMOND son of John Drummond and Catherine Walker, born Oct. 24, 1838 in New Market, Ontario Province, Canada.  He married first Sarah St. John and secondly Rachel Alice Stuck.  He served as Corporal in Co. 1, 72nd Indiana Infantry, Western Branch from July 24, 1862 to July 14, 1866.  He
died July 14, 1916 at the National Home for Disabled Veterans in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.  He is buried in the National Cemetery at Leavenworth, Kansas.  He and Sarah St. John had one daughter Maryetta Georgia.  He and Rachel Stuck had one son Ira Augustus.  Submitted by great grandson Wayne L.  A.J. SANSONI-died Feb 9, 1916.  buried in Leavenworth National Cemetery - he died at the Nation Military Home. Lived in Leavenworth, Kansas the last 16 yrs of his life. But served and enlisted in California.
Anthony J. Sansoni was from Livorno, Italy and appears in Marysville,California in1854. Married in San
Francisco in 1855,   August 21, 1861   Elected " Steward of Marysville Rifles",  had a son in Marysville in 1862,
enlisted December 27, 1864-Fort Point, California with the California Volunteers.  He was a First-Lieutenant of
Captain Chas. G. Hubbard Company G.  Eight Reg't of Infantry California Volunteers.  .  His tour was spent at
the post of Alacatraz Island, Harbor of San Francisco.  Discharged October 24, 1865.   Have  more data, his
pension record etc.  Would, should he be included on this page ?  or on a California page, (which they don't

Henry F. Edmondson was born in 1839. He married Nancy E. BALTIMORE IN 1862 in the Choctaw Nation. In September 1863 he enlisted as a private in the First Arkansas and served with that unit until discharge as First Lt. in August 1865. Lemuel Evans, and is burried in the Hubble Hill cemetery in Tonganoxie, Kansas.enlisted in the Union Army (Co D, 1st Regiment Kansas Infantry) at Ft Leavenworth.  He march to Wilson Creek south of Springfield, Mo. where he was critically wounded in battle on August 10th, 1862 after taking a bullet through his right eye.  He survived this injury returned to Kansas to become a very successful farmer, real estate and insurance agent.He died on January 20th, 1921      N5STAR
ALBERT JEFFERSON WELLS (WELCH) He is buried in Leavenworth,Ks. at Bethel Cemetery. He was in the 13th Missouri Inf. Co.D. There are no dates on his tombstone. David B. Mosher born 2 April 1844 Mendon, Monroe County New York. He served with Company B. 19 th Wisconsin Infantry.  David lived in the Old Soldier's Home in Leavenworth Kansas, but was home on a visit with his family near Lansing Kansas when he died on 28 December 1917. He is buried in the Soldier's Home

Ferdinand Erhardt  Buried in Lincoln Cemetery in Lincoln, KS:
 born in Wurtemberg, Germany Oct 19, 1829.  Came to the US in 1854 and to St. George, KS in 1858.  He enlisted Company K, 11th Kansas Cavalry in 1862 and was mustered out in Fort Leavenworth in 1865.  He died in Lincoln, KS September 30, 1910.  More information is available in"Pioneer History of Kansas" by Adolph Roenigk, Reprinted by the Lincoln County Historical Society in 1973.  Chapter XVI, page 110.  Clarence Suelter

Participated in battles of Cane Hill and Prairie Grove, near Fayetteville, Ark, Dec. 1862; Big & Little Blue and Westport, Oct. 1864; Platte Bridge, Dakota (now Wyoming) Terr., July 1865. This gentleman was my Grandfather. He was born in Ohio and served 3 yrs. and three months Co. M 1st Regiment Ohio Light Artillery in the Civil War. George Thomas Tracy LaCygne city cemetary in Linn County. He was in Company D, Tenth Kansas Infantry. I also have a photo of the grave of my great-grandfather's first company officer, Captain Eli Snyder, Company D, Tenth Kansas, Osawatomie.
William HENRY enlisted as a private in Company G, 12th Regiment of the Kansas Infantry on 16 August, 1862, at Paola, Kansas.  He rose in rank to Corporal, on 1 August, 1864, and was discharged on 30 June, 1865, at Little Rock, Arkansas.  William died on 13 July, 1919, in Parker, Linn County, Kansas.  Marion Alcorn
Henry Bascom SCOTT.  Buried at Oakwood cemetery, Linn County. Born in Jefferson County, Ohio 10 December 1838.Arrived in Kansas 1858. Served in Companies D and H, Fifth Kansas Cavalry 1862-1865.
