Obituary of SIEGMUND KEIL

Siegmund Keil, 74, died at 3 a.m. today (24 Oct 1968) in the Central Kansas Medical Center after being ill since last March. A long time area resident, he was formerly a heavy equipment operator for the Roy E. Knupp Construction Co. until he retired about nine years ago. He lived in Russell before moving to Great Bend in 1941.

Born Aug. 9, 1894, near Galatia, he was married to Ernestine Becker Dec. 19, 1915, at Milberger.

He was a charger member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Great Bend. A memorial in his name is being established at the church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the church with Rev. Walter Lentz officiating. Burial will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cook and Weber Funeral Home until 1 p.m. The casket will not be open after the service.

In addition to the widow of the home, he is survived by three sons, Melvin and Arnold, Great Bend, and Luther, Framingham, Mass.; three daughters, Mrs. Douglas Cotty Jr., Garden City, Mrs. Herbert Hopper, Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Limon Kruckenberg, Great Bend; three brothers, Emanuel and Alvin, Great Bend, and Edwin, Bunker Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Brack and Mrs. Edwin Brack, Otis; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
