Obituary of CHARLES DEAN FOSTER
Charles Dean Foster, 82, Natoma, died Friday, November 23, 2001, at Hays Medical Center, Hays.

He was born September 22, 1919 at Caney, the son of Charles Glenn and Alpha Ora McClure Foster.

He lived his early life in Russell, graduating from Russell High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army, Pacific Theater, after returning from the service he moved to Natoma where he operated a Standard Service Station for several years. For the past 40 years he has been employed at Pohlman's Mortuary, Natoma, and also at Pohlman's Home Furnishing Company until its closure in 1966.

He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and a member of Peace Lutheran Church; American Legion Post and Lion's Club at Natoma and a life member of the VFW Post at Russell.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a son, Roger Foster; and a brother, Dale Foster.

Survivors include: his wife, Anita Foster, Natoma; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Foster, Des Moines, Iowa; and Larry Foster, Wilson; three daughters, Karen Blank, Smith Center, Sharon "Susi" Clark, Natoma, and Carol Gotsche, Garden City; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Peace Lutheran Church, Natoma, with Rev. L. J. McDermott officiating.
Burial was at Natoma Cemetery, Natoma.

Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Hour and American Diabetes Association in care of Pohlman's Mortuary who were in charge of arrangements.
