VARELA, Dennis G.
Dennis G. Varela, (Wero) went home to be sheltered in the arms of God on January 27, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis & Effie VARELA. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Rebecca & his sons Dennis Jr. (Nicole) & Isaac, the three apples of his eyes grandchildren, Dylan, Dennis III, & Marisa. His siblings, Rosie, Grace (Manuel), Sylvia (Alonzo), Thomas (Sonia), Michael, David, Lina (Michael), & John Torres (J.T.), Debbie, Ray, Terri (Ron), & Mark, 38 nephews & nieces, & 8 great nephews & nieces, his many aunts, uncles & countless cousins & friends. Services will be held at Latin American Assemblies of God. 5121 W. Ocotillo Rd, in Glendale. Officiating: Pastor John P. GARCIA. Arrangements entrusted to Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary.
VILA, Victoria "Vicky"
Vicky VILA was born in California but lived in Arizona for 37 years. In 1973 she graduated from Valley Union High School, Elfrida, AZ, where she was the first female FFA member in Cochise County. In 1985 Vicky was graduated with honors from ASU with a B.S. Degree in Nursing. Vicky was an accomplished gardener and horse woman and a generous hostess for friends and family. She passed away January 15, 2007, aged 50.
For those who knew and loved her, Vicky's passing followed a valiant battle with breast cancer. She was known for her vivacious character, outgoing personality and a sincere concern for the care and wellness of others. Vicky celebrated life and was frequently the life of the party. She was a Registered Nurse at Phoenix Baptist Hospital where she worked for the 21 years. Vicky touched the lives of patients, co-workers, friends and family with an energy, compassion, humor and zest for life. Her husband, Lon Jordan, was the love of her life and best friend of 33 years; a loving daughter and son, Alexandra and Phillip Jordan survive her. She was many things to many people; a loving sister, beautiful daughter, daughter-in-law, an aunt to 3 nephews, 7 nieces and one great nephew. She is survived by her sister Theresa GRUMBLES of Kingman, her father Victor VILA of California and in-laws Ramon & Lupe JORDAN.

WARREN, Earl
WEBB, Del E. 1899-1974
Developer, Sun City
Del Webb is credited with starting a new chapter in housing -- the retirement community. He started working with lumber as a hobby in California, moving to Phoenix in 1927, where he started the Del Webb Co. His construction contracts included an addition to the Arizona State Capitol, the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas, expanding Howard Hughes' aircraft facilities in California and constructing Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1962. In 1945, with partner Al Topping, Webb bought the New York Yankees. In 1960, Webb started Sun City, northwest of Phoenix, the first of many to follow across the country.

WRIGHT, Lorenzo and Seth
Ambushed by Apaches December 1, 1885 in Gila Valley while looking for horses. Seth WRIGHT was shot from his horse. His brother immediately dismounted and opened fire upon the Indians. Lorenzo's arm was broken by a bullet, and then, while he was running, he was shot in the back.
