Note that at the time of the 1850 census the following counties theoretically had jurisdiction over unpopulated parts of Nevada: Beaver, Iron, Millard, and Washington counties in Utah Territory, and Rio Arriba, Santa Ana, Taos, and Valencia counties in New Mexico Territory.
