I am looking for information on John DOBRY, born in Bohemia and married an Antoinette SOUCUP (Austrian born). They immigrated to the US and had a son
named James Dobry born March 9, 1890 in Preble, Brown County, WI.
I found that Dobry means "Good" in Czech and that James and Wenzel in Bohemian/Czech are the same.
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I have pictures of a Talbert BAILEY (about 9 months old) and a Mrs. Bailey. They from the "big hat" era and the photographer was F.W. Schneider, Green Bay, Wis. They were in with pictures from my Grandmother, Emma (SCHULTZ) RACE from Little Suamico, Oconto Co. WI. They lived for a short time, turn of the century, at Mountain, WI. Other relitives are DEHOS from Door Co. or LEDER, BOETTCHER, BARTELT from Shawano Co. They may have been family friends. I will be willing to share these pictures with some one who would have an interest in them and maybe we can figure out why they belonged to my grandmother.

I am searching for a DENNY family that came to Wisconsin in 1860-65 from Jefferson Co NY. The son of John Denny - a Chandler DENNY enlisted in the Calvary at Janesville (found his stat's on his enlistment). He was living in Dale Outagamie Co and his parents John Denny & Lucetta lived in that area. Chandler's sister Melissa came with her husband Burton GALLEA and also lived in the same area (ended up in Medina). What I am trying to find is the residence of John Denny during these years 1860 - 1875 in Wisconsin. I am not finding any listings - I did come across a John Denny living in Brown County but can't find any information through census's., He's (if he is indeed my John Denny) listed on a Land patent in Brown County but I don't know where else to retrieve any information on his residency. John Denny uprooted again and moved to Minnesota around 1880. John Denny was born in 1815/16 NY and died in Morristown, Minnesota. Second Question is, the people who came from NY in 1860 - Did they come through the Lakes or overland ? If through the Lakes - wheres the port of entry and how do I find that information?

I am Tilly van Zoest and I live in Holland in the town of Venray.I am doing research on my ancestors from mothers side. My grandfather Martien VAN_RIJT died in 1962. He was looking and searching for his two brothers they emigrated in 1912 to America. They lived in Rushville in the state of Nebraska. They went to a other state ,we think to Wisconsin. We never contact them. We think they died - they were born in 1893 and in 1896. We think also they changed their names in VANRIGHT. We found a letter from 1952 and he came from Green Bay. Please can you tell me are they buried in Green bay and are there any children?

I am looking for info on the Robert M. EBERTS family. He is listed on 1830 census for Brown county. That was when Brown County was a part of Michigan territory which included parts of Wisconsin and Michigan. The Eberts later relocated to the Two Rivers area until the 1860's . The last things known about them was that he and his wife donated land to St. Luke Catholic parish in 1851 to build the church on that land. The land was sold for 1 cent and the church is still on the land.

I'm trying to find out the surname of my great-great grandmother. My great-great grandfather's name was Theodore RUBENS (M.I. probably J for Jean)
and he was married on June 26, 1872 in Brown County. His spouses name is listed as Sodonia (no last name) on his death certificate. Theodore's parents were Jean Baptiste RUBENS and Marie Louise FAYASSE from Pietrebais, Belgium. They came to the U.S. in 1855 and settled in Brown County with their four children Theodore, Joseph Lucien, Marie Josephe, and Marie Josephine. The family has not been able to determine Sodonia's last name, but know she was called Sodonia/Sodonie. Theodore died in Oregon on February 2, 1934.
