Freddy Lee "Pat" Edwards

EDNA--Freddy Lee "Pat" Edwards, 61, of Edna, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008. He was born Nov. 16, 1946, in Edna, to the Lura Edwards Bowman of Edna and the late O. B. Bryant. He was a retired compressor operator for United Gas Pipeline and a member of Peabody St. Church of Christ.

Survivors; companion, Clara Goode of Victoria; mother; daughters, Rosalyn Pool of Missouri City, Lura Lanell Edwards of Missouri City, Dorothy Scrutchin of Highland Village, Joscelyne Breaux of Missouri City, Patrice Edwards of Houston, Patricia Hines Edwards of Edna; sons, Percy Edwards of Elgin, Ferddie Edwards Jr. of Houston; sisters, Bobbie Nell McAfee of Edna, Shirley Greeley of Teague; brother, Freddie Ray Callis of Austin; 22 grandchildren.

Visitation is from 12 to 8 p. m. today at Cook-Butler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral will be at 11 a. m. on Saturday, at Shiloh Baptist Church with Brother John Whiteley, minister of Peabody St. Church of Christ in Edna. Burial will be at Hines Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Pleas Robinson Jr., Glenn Jones, Hillery Edwards Jr., Wayne Callis, Clifford Thornton, Fred Caesar, and Joe Figarova.

Honorary pallbearers: Keith Caesar, Jimmie Lee Barnes, Curtis Barnes.

Edna—Joyce Edwards, 73, passed away on December 5, 2019, She was born December 31, 1945 in El Campo, TX to Clyde and Novell Brown Gary. Visitation is scheduled 9-11 AM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church. In Edna, TX with Funeral Services to begin at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Hines Cemetery. Final arrangements entrusted to Cook-Butler Funeral Home 361-782-3821.

EDNA--McClora "Shock" Edwards, 94, of Edna died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1997.

He was born Dec. 20, 1902, in Edna to the late Sherman and Nellie Hines Edwards. He was a retired construction worker and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

Survivors: daughter, Ezell Edwards Robinson Cross of Houston.

Preceded in death by: wife, Selena Young Edwards.

Visitation will be held from 8 a. m. to 8 p. m. today at Cook-Butler Funeral Home chapel.

Services will be 11 a. m. Saturday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, the Rev. Pat Griffin officiating.

Burial will be at Hines Cemetery. Cook-Butler Funeral Home, Edna, 782-3821.

CORPUS CHRISTI--S. Henrietta "Babe" Edwards, 67, of Corpus Christi died Sunday, April 4, 1993.

She was born Dec. 17, 1925 in Edna to the late Henry Butler Sr. and Sewilla Hines Butler Turner. She was a retired health care worker for the Corpus Christi Independent School District and Driscoll Children's Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi.

Survivors: daughters, Loretta Taylor and Lea Etta Scott, both of Corpus Christi; sons, George Butler and Lavernon Edwards, both of Corpus Christi; sisters, Givller Callis of Houston, Lenora Jones of Corpus Christi, and Nettie Ruth Washington of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Henry Butler Jr. of Corpus Christi, Monsignor Joe Butler of Victorville, Calif., and Dr. Roosevelt Butler of Tacoma, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 9 a. m. - 8 p. m. today at Cook-Butler Funeral Home.

Services: 11 a. m. Thursday at Scruggs United Methodist Church, the Rev. Maurice Washington officiating.

Burial: Hines Cemetery, Cook-Butler Funeral Home, Edna, 782-3821.

Pallbearers: Bruce Butler, Joe Jones, Samuel Butler, Richard Callis, Shawn Hinderman, and Marques Virgo.
