Johnnie Marcelle Cadenhead, better known as "Marcy" or "Big Mama" to those that knew and loved her, passed away April 8, 2023 at her home in Sherman, Texas.
Marcy was born June 10, 1943 in Whitewright, Texas, daughter of Vernon L. and Elsie Caldonia Flowers.  She moved to New Castle, Indiana as a child and graduated from high school in New Castle.
She had worked as a  telephone operator at GTE for several years.  She had also worked at Texas Instruments and US Postal Service.  For a time, she held a State of Texas Real Estate License.
Marcy was a longtime member of Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman. 
She enjoyed gardening her flowers and caring for her pets.    She was known to feed neighborhood stray animals and if need arose, take in a stray animal or two.
Marcy is survived by her daughter, Kanette Blomberg and husband, John; son, Ashley Cadenhead and wife, Beth; brother, Dale Flowers and wife, Gwen; grandchildren: Loren Lowry and husband, Bradley; Svea Blomberg; Caden Blomberg; John Taylor Blomberg; Tristan Cadenhead; Norah Cadenhead; great-granddaughters, Braeley Lowry and Lucy Lowry; sister-in-law, Carol Councellor; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bud Councellor.
A graveside service was held Friday morning, April 14, 2021 at Vittitoe Cemetery with Ken Mullins officiating.
