Van Alstyne Leader Thursday, June 18, 1980 W.A. Tallent Van Alstyne - Services for Walter Aaron Tallent, 87, of 1011 Crestview, Sherman, who died Wednesday at a Sherman nursing home, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Flesher Funeral Chapel here, conducted by Rev. James Garrard of the St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Sherman. Burial will be at Vittitoe Cemetery. Mr. Tallent was born in Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Tallent, and married Tommie Caldwell on Dec. 15, 1917, in Anna. He was a member of the American Legion in Sherman. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Steve Gremmels of Sherman and Mrs. Gordon Hargett of Longview; half-brother, Harless Simpson of Van Alstyne; sisters, Mrs. Bill Ireland of Whitewright and Mrs. Louise Smith of Gordonville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
