Funeral services for Dale L. Rentfrow Sr., age 83, of Howe, Texas will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Howe, Texas.  Rev. Roger Tidwell will officiate and burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Whitewright, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas.
He passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at his home in Howe.
Dale was born on March 19, 1930, the son of Clarence and Agnes Edwards Rentfrow.  He was the oldest of nine children.  He served in the United States Army from 1947 to 1951.  Dale worked in the oil fields for 40 years, retiring with 25 years with the Texas Railroad Commission, working as a Field Inspector.  He farmed and raised cattle for 30 years during and after his retirement.  Dale was a member of the First Baptist Church in Howe, Texas.  He was a 45 year member of the Masonic Lodge.  Dale served twice as Master at the Hiram 433 in Collinsville, Texas.  He was also a member of Shriner's International Hella Temple.  He served many years as a counselor for 4H, FFA and Demotay.  Dale loved working and instructing new Masons.  He was extremely proud of his Masonic legacy, having two sons and two grandsons that are Masons and Shriners.  He also had a daughter-in-law and granddaughter belonging to Easter Star and great-granddaughter in Demolay and Rainbows.
Dale married Marilee Cherry Vaughan on November 18, 2011.
He is survived by his wife, Marilee; children, Fred Rentfrow and wife Sue of Ft. Blackmore, VA: Cathleen Parsons and husband Robert of Henderson, Texas; Patricia Griffith and husband Phil of Mt. Enterprise, Texas; Linda Rentfrow and partner Donna Geiger of Grasselton, GA; Alison Butler and husband Brant of Youngsville, LA; and Dale Rentfrow Jr. and wife Megan of Whitesboro, Texas.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, James Dale Rentfrow, Fredrick Andrew Rentfrow, Matthew Eugene Rentfrow, Eric Lyndon Parsons, Tawnya Michelle Parsons, Thomas Ian Elmore, Clair Butler, Cale Butler, Chloe Butler, Cassidy Butler, Kenady Reese Rentfrow, Masie Gree Rentfrow and Averey Ryenn Rentfrow and seven great-grandchildren..  
Dale was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and sisters.
Family night will be held on Friday, March 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Waldo Funeral Home.
Flowers or memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
