Tom Bean - Services for Mr. George Lee Neal, 58, a retired backhoe operator for TU Electric, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Earnheart Funeral Home Chapel of Whitewright. A. C. Quinn of the Tom Bean Church of Christ will officiate.
Mr. Neal, a resident of Tom Bean, died Saturday in Sherman. Burial will be in the Vittitoe Cemetery.
He was born March 7, 1931 in Kentucky Town, Texas, the son of John Alec Neal and Lora Vincent. He married the former Florence Marie Lane in Sherman, August 28, 195 1. He was a graduate of Whitewright High School and was a member of the Tom Bean Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and served during the Korean War. He was retired from TU Electric after 34 years.
Survivors are his wife; son, Carlis Neal of Tom Bean; daughters, Donna Bowman of Belleville, Illinois, Becky Williams of Azle, and Jan Mostiller, Maria Shaver and Priscilla Neal, all of Tom Bean; his mother of Tom Bean; brothers, T. H. Neal of Tom Bean, and Dean Neal of Anadarko, Okla.; sisters, Ella Sizemore of Luella, Elsie Flowers of Sherman, Edith Buchanan of Jonestown, Penn., and Emma Strickland of Cumberland, Wisc.; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wendell McAdoo, Shelby Gann, Melvin Shiftlet, Mark Shiftlet, Von Ray Montgomery and Larry Jones.



TOM BEAN - Florence Neal, 76 of Tom Bean died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008 at Earnheart Chapel, Whitewright. Officiating the service will be Rev. Danny Wood and grandson Kevin Bowman. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Tom Bean. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Randall Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Clint Neal, Eric Williams, Casey Williams, Chase Townes, Cody Townes, Zackary Shaver, Keaton Shaver, and Braden Ritchie. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at Earnheart Chapel in Whitewright.
Florence Neal was born Dec. 29, 1931 at Cherry Mound to Edgar Dayton Lane and Beulah Wolfe Lane. She married George Neal on Aug. 28, 1951 at Sherman.
She was active with the Tom Bean /Whitewright SNAP Center, and was a member of the Church of Christ in Sherman.
She is survived by son, Carlis Neal and wife Melanie of Tom Bean; daughters, Donna Bowman and husband Cliff of Illinois; Becky Williams and husband Dayle of Ft. Worth; Jan Townes and husband Bill of Georgia; Marla Shaver and husband Tim of Tom Bean; Prissy Ritchie and husband Brian of Whitewright; sisters, Christine Olds of Denison; Louise McKinney of Sherman; Bobbie Ferris of Louisiana; Kathleen Currah of Arizona; brother, Donald Lane of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Sara Lane of Sherman; grandchildren, Randall Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Summer Bowman, Christina Neal, Clint Neal, Ali Asher, Eric Williams, Casey Williams, Lezlee Mostiller, Chase Townes, Cody Townes, Britney Townes, Zackary Shaver, Keaton Shaver, Dylan Ritchie, Kelsey Ritchie and Braden Ritchie; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Neal; parents, Edgar and Beulah Lane; brother, Dayton Lane.
