Whitewright - Services for John J. Jenkins, 83, were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Earnheart Funeral Chapel in Whitewright with the Rev. Gant, minister of the Antioch Baptist Church of Bells, officiating.  Burial was in Vittitoe cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins, former resident of Whitewright, died in a Sherman hospital Wednesday afternoon, December 29, 1976.
Born March 23, 1893 in Howe, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. W.L. Jenkins, he was a member of the Tom Bean Church of Christ.  He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors are two sons, three daughters, five brothers, five sisters, 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
