Thursday, February 17, 1927 pg. 4 Tom Bean, Feb. 16 - Mrs. Sallie Davis, 83, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.G. Stephens, with whom she had made her home for the last 2 years. She had been in bad health for some 20 years, and had been confined to her bed for about 2 years. She had been a Christian since childhood and was one of the charter members of the Presbyterian Church here. Mr. and Mrs. Davis moved here from Tennessee 47 years ago. They were married 61 years ago in Tennessee. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, H.M. Davis, who is 86 years old, and the following children: Mrs. Cleophus Chumbley of Kentuckytown; George Davis of Lone Oak; and W.B., H.R. and T.D. Davis of this place. Funeral services were held at the residence Tuesday. Rev. J.F. Fender of Whitewright and i.E. Teague conducted the services. Interment was at Vittitoe Cemetery.
