G. C. "Jim" Hale went home to be with our Lord on March 8, 2009, at his home with his loved ones in attendance.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God Church located at 519 F.M. Highway 84 Denison. Officiating the service will be Bob Blincoe. Family night will be Monday, March 9, 2009 at 7 p.m. at Bratcher Funeral Home, Denison. Burial will be at the Georgetown Cemetery, Pottsboro.
Jim was born on Feb. 2, 1919 in Sherman. He was the son of Grover Cleveland and Willie Bryan Hatfield Hale.
He was married to Lois White Hale in June 1941 at Colbert, Okla. She preceded him in death in 1982.
They had three children: Grover Hale, wife Cathy of Denison, Donna Hale Blincoe, husband Bob of Georgetown, and Gary Hale, wife Dorothy of Denison; grandchildren: Sherri Davis of Belleview, Neb., Bryan Hale of Denison, Keri McPherson of Muskegon, Mich., Robbie Blincoe of Georgetown, Staci Avila of Denison, Angela Hale of Denison, Tracey Hale and Colby Hale of Denison, and Mark Auten of Santa Fe; great-grandchildren: Megan, Jeremy, Adam and Zachary Davis, Logan and Hayden Hale, Hunter Hale, Kailee, Emilee, and Mollee McPherson, Garrett Boik, Cyenna, Hannah, McKenna, and Myranda Blincoe, and Zarrence Whitfield.
He married Joan Connelly Hale in 1982.
Children, Dee Ann Baird, husband Dennis of Fla., Debbie Stanley of Denison, and John Connelly, wife Cece of Howe; grandchildren, Steven and Jonathan Wheeler, Michael Kastner, Rachel and Nick Baird, Jackelen and Angela Mitchusson, Erika Morton, Ashley Freeman and Tiffany Welch; great-grandchildren, Noah Williams, Megan Nicholas, Elizabeth Morton, Paige Jonathan, Hannah, and Matthew Welch.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and participated in the successful U.S. invasion to free the Philippine Islands from Japanese occupation. He worked for the MKT Railroad for more than 30 years. He was part of the workforce that cleared the area for Lake Texoma. He was also a cattleman.
Jim served on the board of the Faith Assembly of God Church for more than 20 years.
He was a man of honor and integrity who was always helping and caring for others. He was a man among men. He raised and cared for his family with love and devotion. Proverbs 13:22 "A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children."
Pallbearers will be Bryan Hale, Robbie Blincoe, Tracey Hale, Colby Hale, Steve Avila, and Robert Hale. Honorary pallbearers: Zarrence Whitfield, Noah and Michael Williams, Richard, and Don Coley, James, David and Steve White, and Brett Morton.
The family would like to give thanks and recognition for service rendered to Danita Williams, R.N., Pam Dodson, R.N., Ashley Donahue and all the staff of Advantix Home Health who helped in the care of Jim.
A memorial fund is being set up at Faith Assembly of God Church, 519 FM Highway 84, Denison, TX 75020.
