POTTSBORO - On Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, Ruth Jones Miller, 93, passed away at her daughter's home in San Antonio after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2010 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel with Bro. Doug Lacey officiating. Larry Guilloud will bring the eulogy. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery.
Ruth was born at Hagerman, the daughter of Willis G. and Marlin Jones on Oct. 25, 1916. Her school years were spent in Grandfield, Okla. Upon returning to the Willow Springs area in Texas, she met Carlos E. Miller and they were married on Dec. 2, 1934 in Denison. She and Carlos attended Hagerman Baptist Church. The church and the people in the community meant the world to them. Most of her life she lived in the Hagerman, Willow Springs and Pottsboro area. The past 11 years, Ruth lived with her daughter and son-in-law in San Antonio.
She is survivied by her daughter, Kay Miller Forbes of San Antonio; sister, Emma Starling Mathes of Benbrook; grandchildren, Bruce Forbes and his wife, Kathleen of The Woodlands, and Joyce Baecker and her husband, David of Crosby; great-grandchildren, Brooke Forbes and Alexis (Lexi) Forbes both of The Woodlands, and Kirk Baumgardner of Crosby.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos; her sister, Audrey Terrell; her brother, Grady Jones; son-in-law, David L. Forbes; and grandbaby, Diane Forbes.
Pallbearers will be Franklin Lewis, J.M. Lewis, Ronnie Lewis, Gary Miller, Neal Shires, and Glenn Thurston.
Visitation will be from 2 -3 p.m. Sunday, at the Johnson–Moore Pottsboro Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation in Ruth's memory to your favorite charity.
There are not enough ways to say thank you to Vitas Hospice of San Antonio. Their loving and professional care in Ruth's last weeks will never be forgotten.
